Spectrum Controls is a leading manufacturer of hardware and related software products serving the Industrial Control Marketspace. Our products are successfully deployed around the world supporting industries such as: Process Industry, Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Food & Beverage, Water and Wastewater Management, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Paper and others. Our core products include: Analog I/O Modules, Industrial Displays (InView), and Communications Products (WebPort). We are a Rockwell Automation Global Encompass Partner, licensed to develop Allen-Bradley Compatible I/O.  We also offer SY/MAX and Quantum I/O as an alliance partner with Schneider Electric.    

 As the Marketing Specialists II, you develop, design and own marketing collateral for: product launches, promotions, advertising, marketing communications, social media, trade shows, company branding and special projects. You organize, design, schedule and project manage company trade shows.


Spectrum Controls Brand and Positioning:

  • Creates and keeps strong, reliable company brand positioning and branding strategy in the B2B space, ensuring brand identity and recognition that results in increased sales and builds customer loyalty.
  • Develops comprehensive messaging for marketing collateral, both internal and external, that is aligned with our branding strategy to clearly communicate Spectrum Control’s value proposition to the needs of the target audience, including but not limited to:
    • Company Letterhead, Business Cards and Invoices
    • Web site design (Umbraco), Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
    • Brochures and Handouts that explain Spectrum Controls products and their value to the buyer
    • Quarterly Newsletters
    • Business presentation materials
    • Exhibits and Trade Show materials
    • Product and packaging design
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of materials bought from an outside vendor meet corporate graphic standards.

 Product Marketing:

  • Works with Product Management and Sales to develop product launch plans that include: product messaging, targeted audience, and product positioning.
  • Defines the proper use of marketing systems to communicate consistent brand messaging. May include use of public relations firms, advertising, sales promotions, event marketing, point of purchase tools, vendor support, sales displays, etc.
  • Ensures effective execution and evaluation of product launches, meeting timelines and milestones.
  • Establishes and manages an annual marketing budget with itemization of expected expenditures and expected return on investment. Identifies/resolves budget variances.
  • Establishes processes to measure the effectiveness of product marketing efforts to increase market share, keep customers and evaluate how Spectrum can better serve its valued customers.

Marketing Communications:

  • Creates collateral for trade magazine advertisements and audio-visual presentations by writing, editing, designing and layout using a variety of graphic arts applications and tools.
  • Creates and executes effective digital marketing campaigns to differentiate Spectrum Controls within our target markets.
  • Creates marketing campaigns for and collaborates with ongoing contacts with partners, distributors, OEMs and end-users.
  • Able to negotiate with and work as a key liaison between key editors and publications salespersons to place ads within budget.
  • Manages work of outside contractors, freelance staff, print vendors, and others as needed to produce outsourced materials within budget and deadlines.
  • Coordinates photo shoot and press release activities.
  • Creates, negotiates the purchase of, and manages Company promotional items.
  • Works with Technical Writer to ensure that all manuals, and multiple media technical publications are consistent with corporate branding guidelines.
  • Measures effectiveness of campaigns to generate quality sales leads to produce a desired return on investment.

Trade Show Management: 

  • Controls and coordinates trade show functions, to include reserving booth space, scheduling non-official contractors for installation and dismantling booth, arranging for rental equipment, facilitating shipment, sending marketing collateral to show site, etc.
  • Develops marketing plan for each selected trade show.
  • Develops, analyzes, and measures trade show budget.
  • Manages lead tracking system.
  • Coordinates advertising for tradeshow publications/directories.
  • Sets Calendar of Events.
  • Coordinates graphic projects from production to completion with outside vendors.
  • Participates in trade shows as required
  • Ability to interact effectively with Spectrum employees, vendors, customers, and news media in a positive, professional manner.

Web Site:

  • Manages company website (Umbraco) including editing content, gathering, and researching information that enhances the value of the site.
  • Designs web pages and forms using a variety of applications, techniques, and tools to support corporate goals.
  • Purchases new media/imagery/content for web site as necessary.

Social Media and e-Marketing:

  • Manage all aspects digital marketing to generate awareness and build brand.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through proper social media channels.
  • Analyze social media campaigns for market effectiveness


  • BA Degree in English, Journalism, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in Marketing Communications or Marketing.
  • Master of Adobe Creative Suite – MUST
  • Intermediate Skills with Salesforce Enterprise Edition – Desirable
  • Intermediate iContact – Desirable
  • Intermediate Skills Google Analytics – MUST
  • Highly focused, independent, sound judgment, strategic thinker, detail oriented - MUST
  • Experience with design-related or graphics applications - MUST
  • Strong project management, event planning, and proofreading skills - Desirable
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills – MUST
  • HTML5 – CSS Experience - Desirable
