Spectrum Controls Announces Addition of New Counter/Flow Module

High Performance I/O Module Provides Unsurpassed Flexibility in Large Applications

October 20, 2003—Bellevue, WashingtonSpectrum Controls, Inc., a leading manufacturer of hardware and software for the industrial controls marketplace, announces the addition of the 1756sc-CTR8 Counter/Flow Module. This eight-channel module was designed for use with the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix platform. The 1756sc-CTR8 module will be featured at the Allen-Bradley Automation Fair 100th Anniversary on November 18-20, 2003 in Milwaukee, WI.

The 1756sc-CTR8 Counter/Flow Module was designed for a broad range of applications including general purpose count, rate measurement, flow measurement and meter proving. This module’s high channel density and expanded feature set help reduce overall system costs.

The 1756sc-CTR8 accepts AC and DC input signals with maximum frequency of 66k Hz. The module supports single-ended counters and when channels are paired, up/down and quadrature inputs. Accumulated count and rate are available simultaneously for each channel. The module supports scale factors allowing calibration and engineering unit conversion for each input device. The counters are 32 bit and rate data is formatted in floating point values. Programming the module is accomplished by using existing RSLogix 5000™ software.

The 1756sc-CTR8 offers exceptional functionality and accuracy. This module excels in industries such as food/beverage, pharmaceuticals, oil/gas and others where flow measurement, process frequency and count measurement and meter proving accuracy and performance are required.
