Spectrum Controls Celebrates 20 Years

May 14, 2003—Bellevue, Washington—Spectrum Controls, Inc., a leading manufacturer of hardware and software for the industrial controls marketplace, celebrates its 20-year anniversary. In recognition of this milestone, the company will host an anniversary celebration which will include employees, partners, vendors and others who significantly contributed to the success of Spectrum Controls over the past two decades.

Spectrum Controls was founded in 1983 on the premise of building innovative connectivity products for the industrial automation market. The company has collaborated extensively with global automation providers to provide unique, successful products that enhance process control. This philosophy of collaborative innovation has continued over the last 20 years.

In the beginning, founder Bruce Wanta created specialty I/O products for Schneider Electric PLC platforms. Success of these products lead the company to partner with other automation suppliers to develop and market additional products. These innovation partners include Rockwell Automation, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, Mettler-Toledo and other global automation providers.

Today, Spectrum Controls has grown into a global supplier of world-class connectivity products for the industrial automation marketplace. Their latest product offering includes the pairing of Analog I/O and HART Protocol technology in one I/O module. This new module allows both analog and HART Protocol data acquisition, significantly reduces system costs and enhances information and process control. The company plans to launch complementary AMS gateway connectivity to provide a cost-effective and easy to deploy enterprise asset management solution.

“Over the past 20 years, Spectrum Controls has experienced tremendous growth and change,” reflects Bruce M. Wanta, founder and president. “We have always remained consistent in our focus of expanding and improving our technology offerings by listening and collaborating with partners and customers. We look forward to our continued evolution to better serve our partners, customers and employees.”
