Contact: Spectrum Controls Announces New Series 2005/4005 Compact Design WebPort® Industrial Ethernet Products New WebPort 2005CD and 4005CD devices include built in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch and a smaller form factor. February 4, 2009 - Bellevue, Washington—Spectrum Controls, Inc., a leading manufacturer of hardware and software for the industrial controls marketplace, is pleased to announce two new industrial Ethernet gateway products, the WebPort 2005CD and WebPort 4005CD. These two latest additions to the WebPort family add the functionality of four ports of switched Ethernet access, 32 megabytes of user memory and a reduced form factor. Three versions of each product offer Ethernet, PSTN and Quad Band EDGE cellular modem technology. These products will replace the existing 2005/4005 industrial modem router products and offer comparable functionality. The WebPort 2005CD and 4005CD modules represent a comprehensive and flexible solution to industrial Ethernet connectivity. In addition to connecting up to four Ethernet-enabled control devices to the built in switch, the modules also offer serial connectivity to another controller, plus a modem for remote maintenance, and a WAN Ethernet port for connecting to the Internet or any IP network. As with Spectrum Controls’ other WebPort modules, each device functions as a transparent or programmable Ethernet gateway. It securely links serial devices or PLCs to an Ethernet LAN, allowing data access from any workstation. Each module supports scripting in BASIC, although configuration is simple and requires no special programming knowledge. From the telephone modem on the WebPort 2005CD and 4005CD, users can access PLC data remotely, and receive alarms via email or SMS text message to a cell phone. The WebPort 4005CD features a real-time clock that allows data-logging, and enables the creation of web-based SCADA and HMI environments via optional InSite/ViewOn software. Other WebPort products offered by Spectrum Controls include the WebPort 500 Ethernet Gateway, the WebPort 2001 IP Router with telephone or cellular modem, and the WebPort 4001 remote management module with data-logging and e-SCADA capability.
Since 1983, Spectrum Controls has continued to be the premier provider of hardware and related software products for the industrial controls marketplace. Products fall into three major categories: I/O modules, human-machine interfaces and communications devices. Corporate headquarters is located in Bellevue, Washington.
