With two top five finishes in the last two races, the #20 JGR Team headed to Milwaukee, WI, the corporate headquarters of Rockwell Automation and divisional headquarters of Rockwell Automation Businesses Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Software. With the stands filled with support from primary sponsor Rockwell Automation, Mike Bliss and the #20 team did not disappoint and provided their strongest performance of the year.

Entering the their third one-day show of the season, the team knew the two practice sessions on Saturday afternoon were going to be crucial. After a disappointing first practice, the team threw major changes at the #20 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet. The adjustments appeared to provide the needed medicine as the #20 quickly climbed to the top of the speed chart during the second practice. After qualifying 11th, the team was ready to go racing.

"I am a little disappointed with our qualifying lap," commented Mike Bliss before the race. "We were fighting loose during the practice and I guess we just tightened it up too much. I think we have a very good race car and with a little patience, we should be able to work our way to the front of the field. Milwaukee is a tough track to pass on, especially with the flat, tight corners."

Bliss wasted no time showing the strength of the #20 machine. As the race started, he immediately began working his way to the front of the field. By lap 26, he claimed the fourth position and continued to work his way to the front. The next two cars would take a little more time, but by the time the caution flag flew on lap 77, Bliss was sitting in the second position.

Following the leaders onto pit road, Bliss took some minor adjustments and returned to the track in the second position. The changes did not respond well to his car and Bliss dropped one position on the track by the time the second caution flew on lap 115. Bliss again followed the leaders to pit road, where Team Rock Solid showed why they are one of the top pit crews in the Busch Garage. Providing four tires and a round of wedge, Bliss returned to the track in the first position.

Bliss would continue to lead the next 17 laps until surrendering the position to the 32 car of David Stremme. Bliss would then lose one more position to the 38 car of Shane Hmeil. Comfortably riding in the third position, Bliss patiently waited the final pit stop for his final adjustment to help "roll the corner" a little better. When the caution flew on lap 194, he would get that chance.

As Bliss returned to pit road for his stop, the jack dropped just millisecond before the front tire changer was able to secure the fifth lugnut on the tire. Although he was off pit road in the second position, Bliss was forced to return to have the lugnut replaced. Returning to the track in the 11th position, the #20 car would have 50 laps to try to get back to the front. As the laps ticked off, Bliss was able to pick up five spots and finished in the 6th position.

"Tonight was a good night for us," said Bliss following the race. "We have not performed real well in the first couple of one-day shows this year. Tonight we raced liked we should be each week; leading laps and mixing it up in the top five. As far as the last pit stop, you really can't fault those guys. We have had great stops all year and each week we are always picking up spots on pit road."
