Sporting a new look for the final fall weekend at the historic Darlington Raceway, Mike Bliss used a strong run to carry the Rockwell Automation Chevrolet to a third place finish. This is Bliss's sixth top-five finish of the 2005 season and his third in the last five races.

The #20 Car featured the paint scheme of 8 year old, Cody Suchla. Cody was the winner of the 5th Annual Rockwell Automation Employee Children's Paint shop Contest, a contest which began in August and was open to all the children and grandchildren of Rockwell Automation Employees. After selecting six finalists, the winner was selected by online voting from www.raracing.com

With qualifying rained out and the car not handling well during the limited practice session, Bliss and crew chief Steve Addington put their heads together and decided to just gamble on something different. "We knew we weren't very good with what we had," commented Bliss before the race, "so why not take a chance".

Even though the early part of the race was marred by cautions, Bliss immediately went on the move. With four cautions in the first 28 laps, Bliss was patiently aggressive as he moved from his 10th place starting position into 6th . Following the restart on lap 32, Bliss had his sights on the leader. It only took 10 laps to move into the top position on the track. When NASCAR threw a competition caution on lap 49, Bliss led most of the field to pit road.

Reporting the car was a little tight going into the corner, Crew Chief Steve Addington called for ½ turn of wedge and a small air pressure adjustment. Getting into the pits a little slowly and having three cars choosing not to pit, Bliss returned to the track in the fifth position. Bliss continued to battle with the leaders for the next 50 laps, running as low as fifth and as high as second. The final caution of the day flew on lap 99 for a single car accident on the backstretch. Running in the fourth position, Bliss followed the leaders to pit road. Complaining that the car was too loose in the corners, Addington called for a wedge adjustment, track bar adjustment & air pressure adjustment. The crew turned in one of their best stops of the season making the necessary changes and returning Bliss to the track in the third position. Even with the changes, Bliss was unable to pass the frontrunners and after a 43 lap green flag run, Bliss would finish the race in the 3rd position.

"We had a really good car today," commented Bliss following the race. "Considering today was a big gamble, it paid off pretty well. I think the changes at the end were exactly what we needed, but the sun came out and everybody got really loose. We just ran out of laps to catch the front two."

With Bliss's third place run, he maintained the sixth position in the 2004 Busch Series Drivers Points Standings; however, he is only 12 points behind fifth place David Green.
